October 4, 2017 Stone Mountain GA - BusiNeighbor Inc. joins the Global #GivingTuesday Movement to open a Veterans Recreation Center in Stone Mountain GA. #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy.
BusiNeighbor Inc., a Georgia nonprofit organization intends to help Veterans returning home depressed and committing suicide. According to the Veterans Administration, 22 Veterans commit suicide daily. BusiNeighbor Inc.'s received a special land use permit to open the first Veterans recreation center.
“Veterans are suffering in pain and believe suicide is the only cure. Our agency sincerely appreciates Georgia Gives Day on Giving Tuesday. This is an incredible opportunity to address this very serious epidemic and save Veteran lives states Charmelle Scott, Executive Director BusiNeighor Inc. Participation in recreational groups and socially supported physical activity is shown to reduce stress, anxiety and depression. Therefore, Veterans can enjoy better mental health. The recreation center will help Veterans de-stress to progress.”
