Beautify and Enhance Your Home Decor With Window Shutters

Many interior decorators tend to prefer the plantation shutter and with good reason too.

Did you know that Window Shutters can also be custom made so that they enhance the beauty and décor of your home or office?

You could hire an interior decorator to work with you and your window shutter supplier to enhance the interior and exterior of your house. Custom made shutters can not only offer you the ability to manipulate even individual louvres as required, they also offer as much privacy as you require.

Shutters are used to decoratively and functionally cover any door or window irrespective of shape or size and let  in as little as or as much light as needed and also to serve as a spectacular companion to any fabric top or wood treatment in your room. Custom made shutters are full of character and are a durable investment that enhances the resale value of your home.

Many interior decorators tend to prefer the plantation shutter and with good reason too! Plantation shutter are relatively cheaper to make or buy than (say) custom draperies, are versatile and can increase the ascetics and value of your home. Another reason plantation shutter (or shutters in general) are popular is because they can be financed into the purchase of the home which make them a more acceptable option in comparison with other window treatments.

With custom made window shutters to enhance the beauty and décor of your home, your choices are truly unlimited and you have lots of choices as to their design and functionality. You could even have the panels open from the centre or have them bi-fold to one side – the carpenters can make them any way you like to suit your purpose and décor requirement. For example, if there is some obstruction on one side of the window (like cupboard) then bi-fold is the way to get it done.

Not many home owners are aware that shutters can also be made and designed as "double hung" shutters I.e. there is a top panel of louvres which can be functionally opened and closed while the louvres in the lower panel remain closed. Additionally, the upper half can be made to fold all the way back against the wall while leaving the bottom panels in place. This does not mean that the lower panels are fixed in place; far from it - when required, you can open all the panels leaving the entire window Viewline Shades Blinds or Aluminium Venetian Blinds.

There's very little that can't be done with shutters in fact, you could design the shutters not just to beautify and enhance the décor of your home, you could design them to meet your specific functionality needs and style of your windows Louvre Shutters.

When you visit your window shutter supplier, look out for or especially ask for these things to be included in your shutter design:
1. Rabbited edges – used to prevent light seeping along the edges where panels meet.

2. Tension adjustment screws – used to prevent 'drooping louvres' that happen over time.

3. Mortised hinges – much better than traditional ones.

4. Siderails – include at least 1 1/2 inches of siderails as they help prevent warping of panel.
