Dallas Designer Raises Awareness For Domestic Violence Through Fashion

Dallas, Texas – October 6, 2016 – Fashion designer and founder of Silk Threads, Ruby Bhandari will host the Shimmering Lights Gala, a spectacular fashion show in aid to raise funds for local North Texas charities that are working to end domestic violence. Tickets are currently on sale and the crowd is expected to be over 300 individuals that will include the who’s who of Dallas.

The event, being held on the 28th of October, will showcase new looks from Bhandari who designs her lines Silk Threads, the Ruby B Collection and the SOCIAL list. The runway will include approximately two-dozen models that will be showcasing a wide range of looks.

The fashion will definitely be present, but Bhadari knows that there is a bigger mission to this event. “This is our seventh year putting on our charity fashion show. We donate 100% of all proceeds from the event to local organizations. With everything going on in the news over the past year about domestic violence, we passionately believe we need to bring light to this issue. This is something that no man or woman should ever have to face,” said Bhandari. She continued by saying, “Domestic violence is very difficult to talk about, so we are expressing our support through creativity and doing what we are good at and that is fashion. We are delighted to be working with organizations like Mosaic Family Services to make this evening happen.”
