Hashtag Filthy, The Lifestyle Brand Expands Product Line

Spokane, Washington, March 14, 2016 - Hip hop-inspired clothing brand Hashtag Filthy is expanding its offerings to include beanies, bucket hats, snapbacks, sweatshirts, t-shirts and tank tops.

Founded in 2014 by designer and entrepreneur Marcus Ford, the brand has been growing steadily and is expanding its product line and its reach.

"We really made something out of nothing, utilizing all of our own talents before ever reaching out to others for assistance," Ford said. "We have created a brand and clothing accessories line. All it took was some time and plenty of ambition."

After finding success with the original product line, the brand has expanded from accessories to men's and women's clothing. Hashtag Filthy's current offerings include beanies with the #Filthy logo, several different styles of snapback and bucket hats along with tank tops, t-shirts, beanies and hoodies featuring throwback and modern designs. The company's success in the local area has laid the foundation for a wider audience, Ford said.

"We've been focused locally," he said, "and now we're looking to branch out and reach more people."

The company's name comes from Ford and his friends using the word "filthy" on a regular basis to refer to acts unjust or dishonest acts. They began using #FILTHY to describe such things on Twitter and Instagram, and then Ford created a hat with #FILTHY embroidered on it. Being one to turn a negative to a positive Marcus began to flip the term creating interest in the local area, and the brand was born.

Hashtag Filthy has evolved into a lifestyle brand that includes music, clothing and accessories. The goal, Ford said, was to push the culture of hip hop and everything urban in the Spokane area.

"We are here to inspire and create the competitive nature that hip hop was started on," he said. "That's why we have chosen to market our product through mixtapes and product branding."
