Marron Treks offers guided climbing trips on many of Nepal's smaller trekking peaks. Most of the climbs are non-technical but involve a large amount of glacier travel and physical fitness is a must. We have the experienced guides to introduce you to the fascinating experience of high altitude mountaineering.
The Kingdom of Nepal is blessed with the most awe inspiring gift of nature anywhere in the world. It is home to the mighty Himalayas, which means "abode of snows" in Sanskrit. These mountains are the root of thousands of years of Nepali culture. They intimidate us with their overwhelming size and humble us with their apparent immortality. The Himalayas are home of the highest mountains in the world including the highest of them all Mt. Everest. Mt. Everest (Sagarmatha as the Nepalese call it) rises to the top of the Himalayas at 29,028 ft.
Island Peak Expedition - 17 days
Ascending the Island Peak (6187m) is one of the most popular peak-climbing adventures in Nepal. Alternatively known as Imja Tse, this peak lies in the Khumbu Himalayan range. The Island peak climbing offers immense excitement and thrill to both, amateur as well as climbing freaks. This can be the perfect choice for those who are craving to stir thrilling adventure in their trip. You can get a clear view of the Island Peak from Dingboche. The mountain itself is the extension of the South Ridge of Lhotse Shar, separated by a small column.
Your arduous trudge to the summit will be rewarded by absolutely stunning views of the Himalayan panorama. Nuptse (7,879m), Lhotse (8,501m), Lhotse Middle Peak (8,410m) and Lhotse Shar (8,383m) in a semi circle to the north; Makalu (8475m), Barutse (7129m) to the east and famous expedition peak of Amadablam (6812m) to the south are some of the attractive snow clad giants, you will be able to witness from the summit of the peak.
Mera Peak Adventure - 20 Days
Tantalizingly standing to the south of the mighty Everest (8848m), the Mera Peak (6654m) is the highest permitted trekking peak in Nepal. The peak dominates the watershed between the heavily wooded valley of Hinku and Hongu Drangkas. First conquered jointly by James Owen Merion Roberts (England) and Sen Tenzing (Nepal), on 20 May 1953, the Mera Peak has since then lured many mountain aspirants to try its summit. About 700 foreigners scale Mera peak each year.
Mera Peak Climbing is a moderately challenging venture. There are many routes to the peak, but all of them are fairly difficult. For the novice climbers, this mission offers a thrilling opportunity to try some Himalayan rock and ice. The ascent is not that technical as such but one needs good adaptation to the soaring altitudes and some basic know-how of the climbing equipments, including ice axe and crampons.
“Slow and steady”, is the name of the game. As usual, to gain successful ascent, we head up slowly to the base camp which gives us plenty of time to be properly acclimatized. After attaining the summit, the trail crosses the Mingbo La Pass/ Tashi Lapcha (5871m) and gradually descends to the classic Everest route towards Chhokung. Thus, we conclude this thrilling expedition at Lukla.
Climbing this peak requires a special permit from the Nepal Mountaineering Association.
