The Roundtable Ensemble presents William Shakespeares

Two Gentlemen of Verona follows the misadventures of Proteus and Valentine as they fall headfirst into love, infidelity and betrayal.

Two Gentlemen of Verona follows the misadventures of Proteus and Valentine as they fall headfirst into love, infidelity and betrayal. This early Shakespeare comedy tests and explores the most extreme bounds of friendship, all the while keeping us laughing and lost in thought.

Performances begin Thursday, August 7 and continue through Sunday, August 14 at the Clarion Theatre, 309 East 26th Street, NYC. Show times are Thursday through Friday at 7:30pm, Saturday at 3pm & 7:30pm, and Sunday at 8pm. The play runs 2 hours.

Tickets are $15 online, $20 at the door, and are available at http://twogentlemen.brownpapertickets.com/

This crazy cast of characters includes: Proteus' love, the fiery Julia; Valentine's betrothed, the determined Silvia; the allicholy Duchess; the foolish Turio; the sly Lucetta; the slow-minded Launce and the quick-witted Speed. Oh, and did we mention there's a dog?

The play features Tommy Nelms as Valentine, Matt Stillo as Proteus, BK Dawson as Speed, Natasha Dewhurst as Julia, Sarah Jes Austell as Lucetta/Eglamour, Fernando Gonzalez as Antonio/Turio, Doug Rossi as Launce, Abigail Getty as Silvia, Natalie Walker as The Duchess, and introducing Virgil Woska as Crab.

The artistic team includes Casey Cowan-Barnes (Director), Joanna Emmott (Lighting Design), Niall Powderly (Assistant Director), and Rosemary Andress (Artistic Director).

Why Two Gentlemen of Verona? Not only is this sharply-written show ripe with comedic moments and hilarious enterprise, but it also candidly portrays what it is that makes us most human: making mistakes.
