The cost of education only ever seems to go in one direction - up. But students worried about the cost of their training might be about to get some relief. 24 Hourly Dentists has just announced the launch of its 2016-2017 scholarship. Students have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship worth more than $1,000 to put towards their training. Anybody can apply for the award, regardless of their economic or social background.

Videos are to be between 15 seconds and three minutes long and designed to inspire people. Applicants must include details at the start of the video, like their name and the school they wish to attend. Then they should proceed to use their creativity and camera skills to make the judges smile: it’s that simple.

Deadlines vary by season. The upcoming winter deadline is December 1st, so if you haven't started yet, get going. There are further deadlines for submissions every quarter after that, on March 1st, June 1st and September 1.

Who’s Eligible

There are two groups of people who can apply for the 24 Hourly Dentists Spreading Smiles Scholarship. The first are high school age applicants who are about to go on to university from Spring 2017. High school applicants must be planning to enroll at either a two- or four-year college to apply. The other group is those already enrolled in a two- or four-year college or university course. At a minimum,, these students must be in good standing with their institutions to apply for the scholarship.

Not everyone is eligible for the scholarship. Right now, it's available only to permanent, legal residents of the United States.
