PARSE Appoints Administrative And Research Assistant

Ashley L. Voss has been appointed administrative and research assistant at PARSE, an art gallery and curatorial space located in New Orleans.

New Orleans, PRnob.com Press Release, (July 04, 2015) LA- Ashley L. Voss has been appointed administrative and research assistant at PARSE, an art gallery and curatorial space located in New Orleans that focuses on contemporary art.

Ashley comments, "We should all work to cultivate a vibrant and creative environment that nurtures and sustains the artistic spirit of the community. I am excited to join the PARSE team to help bridge the gap between art makers and art admirers."

Amy Mackie, Codirector said, "Ashley's administrative skills, knowledge of contemporary art, and positive attitude make her a welcome addition to our team. During her short time at PARSE, she has streamlined our approach to marketing/promotion of our exhibitions and events, made multiple contacts within and beyond the visual arts community, and has rebuilt our website. Ashley has already proven to be a critical voice at PARSE and we're excited to work with her in the months and years ahead!"

Ashley holds a Bachelor of Arts in Arts Management degree with an emphasis in Art History from the University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point. She has interned at a number of arts organizations, including Q Artists Cooperaive and The Riverfront Arts Center in Stevens Point, WI and PARSE, The Front, Porter Lyons, and the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans. She also interned for the New Orleans' based fashion designer Ashley Porter. In 2013 and 2014, she curated two exhibitions for the Chippewa Valley Cultural Association/Heyde Center for the Arts in Chippewa Falls, WI.

About PARSE:

PARSE is an art space and curatorial residency in New Orleans' Central Business District that serves as a platform for critical dialogue about contemporary art. This program hosts three to four visiting curators annually. During exteneded stays in the city, curators are encouraged to engage in studio visits with local artists, conduct research in the area, and utilize the PARSE facilities to experiment with the boundaries and possibilities of curatorial practice.
