Addmen Highlights Some Important Specifications for Printing Barcoded OMR Sheets

May 5, 2015, Pune, Maharashtra : First point to note – print barcodes in font size ranging from 32-36 only and specifically inn black color. Preferably include the barcode on two separate locations, to ensure at least one of them will be scanned properly by the OMR software. Print all OCR blocks in 16+ font size, mandatorily in black color. If you don’t have the barcode and OCR fonts already installed in your system, you may access the downloadable files from the “Download” menu on the main screen of the OMR software.

Never use photocopies of OMR sheets if you’re printing barcodes on them. If digital reading is needed, print barcoded sheets using digital offset printing process or you may even resort to laser or inkjet printing. If you are introducing serial numbers to the OMR sheets, do not stamp them onto the sheets as they cannot be read by the OMR software. Also, ensure that you don’t leave any stray ink marks behind; otherwise they may be read by the OMR software as a marking.
