Dubai Healthcare City Envisions Becoming Home to the Best Dental Clinics in the World

As early as 2001, the United Arab Emirates has seen the opening of some of the best dental clinics in Dubai. All of which are conveniently located within the Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) in OudMetha, which is in the heart of the city.

These clinics boast some of the top dentists currently in practice.

Whether a patient is looking for a dentist in Dubai for general dentistry work or dental cosmetics such as veneers and dental implants, they are most probably be able to find it in DHCC.

What Dubai Healthcare City Has to Offer

Dubai Healthcare City is home to close to 20 different dental clinics in Dubai, practices, hospitals, and centers with dental experts originating from America, Canada, France, Italy, and Germany and staff from virtually all over the world. Cosmetic Dentistry, Dental Hygienists, Endodontics, General Dentistry, General Practitioner Dentists, Oral Medicine, Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Periodontics, and Prosthodontics can be found in DHCC and are some of the best in the world.Dental services offered within the dental center include the option of selecting Dubai dentists that are fluent in your native language.

The Conceptualization of Dubai Healthcare City

DHCC is in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister of Dubai. His Highness wants to make the city a desirable destination not only for the residents of the United Arab Emirates but also by international medical tourists.

To start the project of building a comprehensive dental infrastructure in Dubai like that of DHCC, the first phase was an Oral Hygiene screening initiative which was completed in February 2016. The screening involved 2000 people, with the approval of the Permanent Committee of Labor Affairs in Dubai (PCLA). It was headed by the Hamden Bin Mohammed College of Dental Medicine (HBMCDM) in partnership with the Dubai Dental Clinic (DDC), one of the twenty dental facilities housed in the DHCC.

The initial phase screened 2000 workers over the course of 24 screening sessions, involving 60 dentists and 15 faculties, plus dental hygienists, dental assistants, and administrative staff. Of the 2000 people screened, the following facts were highlighted: (1) 400 had extensive caries; (2) 600 had severe dental problems and pain; (3) 750 required dental extractions; (4) 1100 were diagnosed with tooth decay; (5) 450 had missing teeth requiring fixed or removable dental prosthesis; (6) 800 had gum disease; and (7) 1500 required scaling to remove dental plaque and tartar.

The people involved in the screening have their dental problems fixed by arguably the top dentists in Dubai working in the best dental clinics in the city.

Phase 2 of the DHCC Project

The Oral Hygiene screening initiative only forms the first part of the two-fold Dubai Plan 2021 that envisages Dubai to be a city where empowered and creative people prefer to live, work and visit. Phase two of the project is expected to involve 4000 people. All dental facilities used in the Phase 1 section of Dubai Healthcare City will remain available, even improved, during Phase 2.
