What is CLA and is it worth considering it for losing weight? Obviously, it is something that can help you lose weight but it is also something that can offer several health benefits.

Furthermore, you have options in terms of using it, and what I mean by this is that you can either buy a CLA supplement or buy foods that naturally contain CLA in them. Both options are good, it just depends on what your reason for using CLA is or what your purpose is.

If your main reason for using CLA is to lose weight, you will be forced to buy a supplement since food offers too little CLA compared to the daily dose recommended and shown in various studies and trials to work best for weight loss.

Although there are studies that have used under 3 grams of conjugated linoleic acid and still had some results, it's just better to use more.

Most studies and trials clearly show that CLA can be unreliable and inconsistent and you have to take that into account. Using more improves your chances of success, which is why I would recommend a minimum of 3 grams daily or 5-6 grams daily.

Going above that dosage isn't probably going to help you much. You should probably also consult with your medic or health care provider before using CLA supplementation since it can increase your insulin resistance as well as lower cholesterol levels.

Generally, it is recommended to take the 3 grams or 6 grams of CLA not all at once but multiple times throughout your day. Divide your dose into three capsules each day for a total of 3 to 6 grams each day. How long should you wait before noticing any results?

This may be different for each person but CLA is known to take its time, it works slowly and isn't overly potent. A month or more should be more than enough for you to tell if it's helping you or not, just make sure that you always meet the required dose and stay consistent with it. Consistency is something very important in weight loss.

Obviously, you should be dieting and you should also be exercising. Conjugated linoleic acid is by no means able to help you with anything unless you help yourself by changing your unhealthy eating and sedentary habits.

If you are interested in natural sources of CLA, the best are cattle beef and cow's milk or dairy products obtained from grass-fed cow's milk. Make sure that the beef or the milk you buy come from grass fed cattle/cows because it is grass that determines the amount of CLA.
