Richard D. Schibell Horse Racing Team

Richard Schibell, the owner of the Richard Schibell Racing, prints the program and form for people to buy. The program and the racing form are excellent sources of betting information.

I have loved speed since I was a child. Because of that I have tried as many sports that involve going more than 100 miles hour as I can. Skiing, skydiving, kart racing, street bike racing, street car racing and many other ones. Even on video games.

I am lucky to be alive but have to content with a few scratches. One thing I have never tried though is racing on a horse. I find horses fascinating, elegant, beautiful and majestic but I have never had the chance to even ride one. So I decided to go watch a derby at the Churchill Downs Racecourse. I noticed it’s a whole social network. Like the NASCAR tracks, they had everything there; restaurants with places for kids to hang out. And then the betting booths. I noticed betting is a serious business in horse racing. It’s as exciting as any major sport in the world and indeed fascinating because of the major players involved; horses. With a magnifying glass, I could see them clearly, the powerful legs and keen eyes, strong jaw bones, majestic stance.

I can understand why men like Richard D. Schibell; founder of Richard D. Schibell Horse Racing Team loves horses and the horse racing business. It didn’t look like just a business. It looked to me like passion. People loved horses and want to see the them run, race and crown it with clinical victories that will be preserved in time.

I was lucky enough to have gone to Churchill Downs that particular day for it had on its bill the most thrilling two minutes of sports tradition I had ever experienced. The Kentucky Derby, the first race of the famed Triple Crown series happens every year and this race is made for the gods. Even the horses know this is an important event. I asked an elder man sitting by me keenly looking into his magnified viewer. I can see the veins on his neck, tensed and looking excited he explained what this was all about. He whispered back to me with some air of regal respect and affection in his voice “Secretariat is being honored today before the race” I later got to know that “Secretariat” is the champion thoroughbred that run the fastest Derby ever, and according to my sitting companion, I can find exhibits and memorabilia of the legendary horse in the Kentucky Museum. The atmosphere was electric. Secretariat must have owned these tracks in his day. The love and energy was strong enough to be touched.

Of course the Derby was amazing that day and even the people more so. I loved everything and got to hang out with people who spoke about horses and racing with such depth. It was a great day and the talk of legends reminds me of one of the people who have contributed so much to the racing industry especially here in Kentucky: Richard D. Schibell; an astute lawyer, a horse breeder and a racing industry expert. His Richard D. Schibell Racing Team is by far one of the best around.
