Everyone loves a well-kept lawn. Green, well watered and fresh looking lawn is considered the heaven of grounds care. We all dream of that perfect lawn, but lawns will always have that little issue with diseases and weeds. Lawns like everything needs special care. The reward of taking good care of your lawn can be amazing, often from neighbors who will admire with beautiful commentary or get murmur to themselves in jealousy from afar.

So how do we achieve that level of perfection with that lawn? I have some interesting ideas to share from years of making a good time for my rather large front yard and also watching and listening to my lawn services company.

I live Naperville, Illinois and we take our lawns serious here. Now as I said, great lawns don’t just spring up. It takes some good work and the engagement of quality service provider/s to make that happen especially with the size of my lawn.

I will give you some great advice on seeding your lawns. If it’s your first seeding, roll your sleeves up and get ready to do this for more than a few hours. Each one of this task takes time and must be performed with care.

The biggest step requires the most physical effort. You dig in the soil to loosen it allowing you to remove weeds, rocks and the likes. It requires careful attention. Grass seed doesn’t grow in compacted soil, so you really need to dig into the soil where you plan to spread grass seed. In the case where the soil is loose and moist already, clear weeds and rocks. That should be quiet easy.

Hard, compact, rocky or overgrown requires much more work and you might need to call in a professional lawn services delivery company like The Elite Landscape Group to help you out as it will take longer or might need special attention. For lawn seeding preparation, you will need a shovel and a hard rake to break the soil up. You have to dig at least four inches deep down. If you have a rototiller, trust me, it’s time to put it to work.

Next is soil improvement. Apply compost in an even layer on the prepared lawn soil, and then turn it in with a shovel. Don’t be tempted to leave the compost on the soil just like that. You need to turn and mix it thoroughly and rake through the soil to remove any lingering rocks and pieces of wood.

After the soil is prepared, seeding can now begin. You will need to consider the grass that best grows in your area so you can prevent the pitfalls that come with choosing the wrong grass types. The local garden store keeper will be very good for some useful advice before you invest any money in seeds.

Like I said if this is all too much it  might be worth more trouble than you care for, speak to the Elite Landscaping for some professional help.
