United States Power Squadrons Digital Media Library Debuts Preparing for Departure Video

Raleigh, NC, 25 October 2016 – The United States Power Squadrons (USPS) announces the debut of its streaming media video focused on preparing for departure in its Digital Media Library (DML) online at www.uspsdml.org and as a free mobile app.

The new “Preparing for Departure” video shows viewers how to board their boats safely by using three points of contact and distributing passengers and gear while maintaining stability.

Viewers will also learn how to prepare their boats in advance by readying lines, equipment, and crew members for their intended departure maneuvers.

Also featured are special tips such as starting boat engines safely and ensuring that they are running properly.

Along with the new video, the USPS DML is adding a related boater education slideshow on Tides & Currents as well as several new safe boating images.

The USPS DML is also distributing its “Preparing for Departure” video through popular social media including Facebook and YouTube. All digital media in the library is offered at no charge.
